The End Of The World Is The Prelude To A New World

The Truman Story with Jim Carrey, was a very compelling story of a man who had been filmed live for television without his knowledge his entire life.  The movie climaxes when he hits the walls of the massive studio with his sailboat and realizes his whole life had been staged.  Faced with the end of the world Truman has to make a choice, continue in the role he had been playing all of his life or adopt a new role in a new world, the real world.

The End Of The World Is The End Of A Comfort Zone

The comfort zone we live in seems like it has no end, doesn’t it?  We can stay there and be happy for our whole lives, and never think to look anywhere else or get close to the end of the world that we live.  In fact, I have thought many times that I would have been better off not ever having looked to the horizons, to the end of the world, where the facade of our life protects us from a world foreign to our directed nature.

The End Of The World Of Conformity

To conform is to act in such a way as it agrees with the environment.  Conforming to society’s requirements is necessary in some ways, but when it limits the natural way of being we had as kids, then it is no longer a good thing.  I somehow always knew that there was a wall there in that bright and pretty world. I am still trying to break down those walls of conformity.

One way to escape playing a character in someone else’s production is to punch a hole in the walls that surround you and seek a way to punch the ticket to the outside world, where freedom is and the challenges you face to be able to know it.
