"Being creative is enough."

The importance of clarity of information and education on how things work in a democracy.

April 19, 2025April 19, 2025

The confusion we are experiencing in the United States is largely due to chaotic messages from just about everyone. We are in an ideological battle between two sides that have lost control of what is important. America is in a chaotic state, and the world is worried.

It is easy to complain about all of this. It is easy to go out and protest and yell at each other. But, where does that get us? Nowhere. Not that we shouldn't protest, but unless you are working on the solution, protesting is just adding fuel to a fire already raging.

What I don't see is clearly presented facts in a sane, concise way that is communicated by someone who knows their stuff.  The media talks in generalities and likes to push buttons to get more viewers and people eat it up. It is bizarre.

I believe that information, clarification, and explanation, all together otherwise known as education, is like a breath of fresh air or a swim in cool clear water. It invigorates and calms the nerves. It doesn't create confusion but rather creates peace of mind. So, moving forward into the turbulent times that we face I believe the number one priority is communicating how things work in a democracy, educating on the constitution and the law, and to clarify the principles that made America what it is, or was. America didn't become a world leader because it persecuted people, it became the world leader because it lifted them up. The American democracy wasn't always perfect, and they knew it wouldn't be when they wrote the constitution which is why they added 'in order to create a more perfect union' but what that did was give time and space for progress to happen.

Progress is what it is all about. The prosperity of America is grounded in people looking forward to the possibilities in what the future might hold. You can't sell a cup of coffee yesterday. That will never happen. Innovation in business is what powers its profits, not going back to the horse and buggy. Along with prosperity comes the moral leadership that the world has traditionally looked up to and has been the number one foreign policy tool at our disposal. The bottom line is, if the United States doesn't send struggling people the help they need, then they will get it from elsewhere.

It is completely unconscionable that they destroyed USAID. That is just evil and it is self destructive in so many ways. If all you are looking at is the bottom line then you aren't looking at the purpose of any business. A business exists because of what it does and to exist it has to make money. But, depending on the business what a bottom line looks like is going to be different.

What is government after all?

Government is the fair management of a society. The goal of government is to peacefully administer the services which are expected from the people. Government is a distributor of order. Legal, financial, cultural, and social order are all divvied up by government in such a way that the people can function freely within certain legal bounds. The needs of all outweigh the needs of the few or the one, to coin a Star Trek philosophy. Therefore a corporation, and their owners, have no more rights than an employee working for the corporation. All are equal under the law.

While everyone agrees that government should function more efficiently you can't just destroy it, fire everyone, and expect the result to be a good one. Any moron can do that. Heck, even I can do that. That is the easiest thing to do. What is hard to do is to tweak things so they function more efficiently. What is difficult is to agree on programs to help America grow in a positive direction with a congress that is divided down the middle with extreme factions of each side with too much influence.

The leaders of tomorrow don't need to be ideologues but rather educators. The issues are actually less important than the type of reasoning we use to to solve them. People are making decisions based on ideology and not on the pertinent aspects of each individual issue. Measles doesn't care what a political party thinks. The only way to battle it is through science and years of trial and error. Whether you agree with the concept of vaccinations or not doesn't matter at all. The only thing that matters is what works and has worked now for many years. The Climate doesn't care if you are left or right. The weather is going to do what it is going to do regardless of who is in office. You might think you are right but it doesn't help any if you are wrong and being wrong on this point is disastrous.

Honestly, if America doesn't get its head out of its butt fast we will lose whatever advantage we've ever had in the world. We've already lost moral leadership in the world. Nobody is looking to America right now for inspiration and hope. We have lost our moral leadership position in the world, which was already tested many times before, but not like this.

What does this all mean?

It means that the entity that creates the best education platform and informs the people will win going forward. You can't expect people to get behind something they don't understand. You must break it down for people and speak in simple and common terms. This may be the reason for the result of every election. Whoever delivers the education, wins. Even if it is wrong.
