I was speaking to my insurance agent the other day and told him that the main thing that bothered me about insurance is that in order to get any benefit from it, something bad has to happen.
You either have to be in a car accident, get sick, have a house fire, somebody steals your furniture, you accidently break someone's heirloom vase, a tornado wipes your house out or you have to die before you see a dime of your paid insurance policies.
Now, don't get me wrong, having insurance is a smart thing to do, no doubt, because when you need it, it should be there for you. (It may not always be…the companies do their best to get out of paying on claims.)
People ask me about the Empower Network and part of what I say is, it CAN be like an insurance plan, that you can actually cash in on as you go along and nothing bad has to happen. Of course, you have to do the work to get any return, but, it is sort of like being an independent insurance agent, you are providing people with a way to make their lives better, more secure.
