Power: Something We are Born With

Sometimes it takes a different perspective to get clarity on a desire that you have had in the past. You knew your desire was clear, but had lost all connection to it, because the trials of life waters down the power of your desire and turns it into very weak coffee. This is the way it has been for me and my project Boredom to Brilliance and thankfully I have been shown again what the essence of my project is all about. The sub-title states it really clearly, ”Using the Power of the Arts in You to Create a Beautiful Life.”

It doesn’t take long to see how much power a person possesses because we see it immediately after birth and all through childhood. Babies, children and teens possess great power and will use it until they get what they want. We are born with great power. Sure the desires of the young are often temporary and not ”thought through”, but the truth is these desires are focused on what is important right now and not on what is going to happen in the future. They want it now and they will put the full force of their beings into getting it. That is power.

Beating the Power Out of People

By the age of 18 the world has managed to beat the power out of most people. Society effectively drains the pool of power so expectations are lowered and energy is depleted. We become resigned to the fact that this is the ”real world” now and we are facing a future of working at a job and merrily dance down the isle of life and punch the clock every step of the way, as if we are programmed that way. Admittedly, life is much easier on the person who does all of the right things. Their power has been taken away from them but people are okay with it because they get their basic needs met and receive rewards for fitting in so well. We get the power beaten out of us and most forget that they ever possessed any real power at all.

Tapping Into the Natural Power Inside

Having recently become a part of the Empower Network I have listened to a lot of their audio and watched a lot of video about the mission to ”Em-Power” people to rediscover and transform their power into a life of purpose. I realized that the mission of my book and project is exactly the same, to ”Em-Power” people to rediscover their power through their deepest source of passion and to use it in expressing all they are in a form which can be understood by others, art. We all know how powerful our emotions can be. When we feel strong emotions about something we are talking about, you can feel your body pulse with energy. Whether it be the passions of love or fits of anger there is no question that these emotions give us incredible energy. That emotional energy is our power and to waste it by just letting it swirl around in the atmosphere without a connection to a purpose is like seeing a live wire flipping around throwing off sparks and then finally lies limp because all of the power is gone. Art is the battery that stores the energy of our power. After you have created it you have it to recall on forever.

Art is the Transformation of Emotional Power into a Work of Brilliance

The development of the skills necessary to transform the power of emotions into works of brilliance requires a lot of mental and physical strength. Maybe it is right for only a few to be able to achieve it but it all comes down to one thing, taking the steps to get that done. Here you have two sources to help you to return to being the powerful person you were born as.
