Unfortunately America is in a very dangerous place right now.
First of all, nobody really is telling the complete truth about anything.
The media is telling the stories that get the largest audience and not really informing the public on all facets of an issue nor presenting other issues that are important and vital to the country. The opinionated news of huge media outlets are literally dangerous propaganda agencies for various radical ideologies. We have been led by them to hate the opposition, when it is the opposition that keeps us honest and fair. We should embrace different views and answer the hard questions of skepticism and not treat them like outlaws and traitors but as partners in finding a better way. Expecting everyone to think one way is not only impossible it is incredibly dangerous and if there is anything that is anti-American it is the persecution of people who have different opinions than yours.
America's constitution is brilliant, because it defends the value of difference of opinion, division of power, and the accountability of those given the responsibility of guiding the country forward into a better place for everyone. American government must practice voluntary, eager, and disciplined self inspection and cooperate with any investigation into possible wrongdoing. Today, the social media platforms available to everyone without apparently any laws to make sure misinformation isn't spread, is something the founders never imagined.
There has to be a crackdown on slander, hetze (a German word that means aggressive 'hounding', 'rabble rousing', or 'incite to riot') and lying from all parties that practice these dangerous deceptions that threaten the peaceful exchange of ideas.
Ultimately, America MUST avoid the MESSIAH complex it expects of political people, especially a President. The President isn't the "Leader" of the country, it is "A public employee" working as a manager of the government and the guide for making sure the constitution is not threatened but used to improve life by building a more perfect union. America has got to have a renewed spirit of democracy, balance, fairness, rational discussion of facts, respecting others and most of all believe that patriotism isn't a matter of waving a flag, but of treating others with respect and honor.
If we don't get back to being America it will at some point die an ugly death.
