The Laws of Life #4: Strength – Never Surrender It

The Laws of Life #4 is Strength and Never to Surrender It

Never surrender your strength to anyone, not even those who you care about the most.

There is a constant battle going on from the very day you are born. We are born into the world with the nature desire to live life on our terms. Babies contain a power of resolve which overwhelms any grown up. They demand being fed, and it shows up. They demand sleep and they sleep. They demand thirst and they get something to drink.

As babies age into childhood, the word ”NO” begins to show up on a regular basis. Now, the child has to resort to more covert tactics to get what they want, and sometimes not so covert…and all out onslaught of emotional power is unearthed and moves people in strange and mysterious ways.

The development of a child could be seen as a unconscious attempt to show them that it is expected that they give their power over to someone else, and by the time they turn into adults, their power has been totally reduced to ”yes sir”’ and ”yes ma’am”.  ”You can’t always get what you want.” as Mick Jagger might sing.

Soon, you see the wisdom in this, and you agree that it is okay not to get what you want.

Ultimately the tragedy of life is that you stop wanting altogether.

In my search for spiritual understanding, I have had the desire to not to want, so my ego wouldn’t be disappointed when it didn’t get it. I viewed having desires for wanting as being attached to the world and therefor unimportant and actually not a good way to live for me.

But, my studies have led me full circle on this topic and it isn’t a matter of ego, it is a matter of fulfilling your life’s destiny and that is to realize the brilliance of your being.

The word ”Desire” is listed as the number one ingredient in achieving anything in life. It is the emotional strength of a specific goal or dream, which gives us our ability to fulfill it. In fact, without a white hot burning desire, the emotional and spiritual fire of life, we are destined for either mediocrity or failure.

But, we are up against a world of obstacles. We are raised by a world that asks us to give up our greatest asset, our strength which is our burning desire for life in exchange for acceptance.

This is a major choice in life. A conscious choice of whether we are going to allow others to determine our desires or are we going to take our strength and stand up for it?

You Grow Up the Minute You Stand Up for Your Stength

This can be encouraged by parenting and mentors who want you to stand your ground and to make waves. It can also be discouraged by the same people who would have you become a devout follower of someone else’s idea about your life.

But most importantly, there comes a time when you have to stop surrendering your strength to others, agreeing with others that moving outside the box isn’t the right thing to do. There comes a time when you have to upset some people, leave some people and finally stand up and say ”I am here, and now and I am strong, and that is a good thing, because the world is better with a strong me, than it is with a weak me.”

To build the firery flames of a burning desire and keeping hold of the serenity of the spiritual realm require balance and a lot of practice. For, stoking that fire can cause stress and so we need to have peace as well as passion.

What are we afraid of? There is nothing to be afraid of. Really.

We will die, all of us. The clock is ticking. The time is now and people are waiting on us to be strong for the world, and for ourselves.

So, having a burning desire to succeed, to get rich, to love, to create, to be spiritual and to live a full life, is not an option, it isn’t even a requirement, it is a GIFT!

Most of the people on earth walk around without a burning desire for anything, they take what life gives them, like mice running out of a mice hole to get a piece of cheese and then running back into it where he is safe, secure and hidden. Thats okay. Really it is. I get it, and yes it is tempting.

But lets think about it for a second. If it is heartbreaking to see a dog that has lost their joy for life, isn’t a hundred times worse to see people whose dreams have turned into a daily replay of events without a sense of passion?

Man, never lose passion, never lose your desire, never lose your strength or give it up to anyone…then that is the treasured gift of brilliance that was injected into your soul at birth and should grow and flourish with time, not fade and wilt with it.

After you have lost it for a while, when life has licked the red off of your candy, when the mountain ahead seems too unsurmountable to climb, it is difficult to believe in yourself again, to believe in your strength and your power, to stand up finally and grow up into the world as a full human being, but what is the alternative?

Surrender?  Nobody is pointing a gun at you!  What are we afraid of? After all of the years of life, we have survived and still can see the starry skies!  WE CAN DREAM! WE CAN DESIRE!

We must succeed or die trying and leave a hero’s monument behind that says

”I lived a brilliant life!”
