Computers get their marching orders from code. Whether it is computers, Artificial Intelligence, or Robots it is all conveyed by some sort of code.
I am not a code expert. In fact, I barely understand its existence. But, I do know that it is what makes the computer I am working on right now work. I know enough to know that when something isn't correct in a code, the whole system is damaged or worse, made inoperable. So, with code there is no such thing as ideology. There is only correct or incorrect. Either it is true or it isn't. There is no wiggle room in coding.
So, the purity and accuracy of the code is all important. It can't be sick with viruses or some other debilitating disease. It must be clean and true, otherwise it goes haywire.
Computers have it easy in comparison to humans. The only information a computer has to deal with is truth or it doesn't work at all. Humans on the other hand are programmed with overwhelming data streams on a constant basis including their own self made data streams called thoughts. If a computer was fed such a diseased soup of data it would crash before you could say "Siri"!
If you were to create a 'code' from the streams of data coming at us every day it would destroy any computer. A computer only works on the problem at hand. A human is not only working on problems that need to get solved, but also a litany of other issues that arise on a daily basis, many of which are completely useless.
The question is: Where does the human code come from and how does it reach us as people?
The code is entered into the human's brain through the senses. Sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste are the categories of senses that reach our brains. Everything we are exposed to is entered into our brains as true information. This is very important to understand because it is easy to believe that we can sort it out before it reaches our brains, but we can't. We sort out information after it has been entered regardless of how much we believe that we can audit it on the way in.
What we look at, what we listen to, what we touch, what we smell, and what we taste are all producing bits of information in our brains. Today the amount of sensory information we receive is rolling towards us like an avalanche, a tsunami, or its like drinking from a fire hose. It is a staggering amount of information when you stand back and consider it.
In the days before electricity we were exposed through the printed word, what you heard at church, at school, or on the street. Information took time to reach us and we had to take time to receive it. Today, we are being dumped on by the media in addition to everything else. In fact, sometimes the media is where most people spend all of their time. Watching TV or streaming content on the internet. Social media scrolling and listening to the radio or streaming services. Going to movies, concerts, theater, and just sitting on the couch like a trash can and having the loads of information just dumped down our throat like a garbage truck emptying trash at the dump. We have become a waste dump of information and it is driving the world crazy.
I'll be the first to admit that I can't participate in this media nightmare today. There are countless TV/Cable/Sat streaming stations and services today with an endless library of content available 24/7. A lot of this content is violent and quite frankly disturbing to watch. On top of that you have the 24/7 news outlets that pound you with hot button topics presented as fact when actually it is slanted propaganda from an ideologically perverted point of view. The design is targeted to engage you and keep you engaged by speaking to your fears. It is pure evil. They mix enough legitimate news in with it to make it difficult to know what's real and what is fabricated.
Then you have religions that are teaching a certain theology which may or may not be 100% accurate and can be inflammatory. What ideologies do is make you believe in an absolute right and wrong with a judgmental mindset which causes us to seek blame and guilt in others and the way to remedy their sin is through punishment, either corporal or mental. There exists a 'sacrificial' mindset that it is okay to do the dirty work of 'god' and kill yourself in the process because you are doing your part to eradicate some perceived evil. Only, even if you did, there is no way to do that. It only makes matters worse. But, of course the important thing is, you did it for 'god' so murdering in the name of 'god' makes it "noble", which of course is nonsense.
My point here is this. Let's say we could program AI and Robots to take over the role of world leaders and by doing so they could figure everything out without having to go to war to do it. Why wouldn't we do that? Seems like a good idea doesn't it? Egoless robots making logical decisions for us and all we have to do is follow their results. We could use all the money we waste on the military and use it for other things. This would require us to program them that way and that is where the problem comes in.
As ridiculous as it sounds, the day is coming when war will be at least partially done by robots on a programmed mission. We already see drone ballet in the sky doing amazing designs. It would be nothing to use that programming to attack things. There are drone boats with explosives and obviously rockets that once programmed can find the target with incredible accuracy.
We know we can program robots. We also know that we can program people. What program being used on people decides their behavior. Everyone performs their programming to perfection. How are we programmed? Why are we programmed that way? Is it the programming we want? Is the best programming for us? Who does it serve? Defining our programming can give us insight into ourselves and I find it is an important study to make.
Programming the human mind is a long process. Re-programming the mind takes a lot of effort because the mind is built to establish patterns and once established anything that disagrees with it causes us to balk and not want to do it. Changing our behavior is a matter of changing our programming, and that is a difficult task because you have to choose how you want to be and if it is different than they we you are, you aren't going to want to do it. Nobody does.
It is really all about placing ourselves in the environment that will program us into something different. You want your environment to be filled with images, sounds, smells, tastes, and touches that will program you the way you want to be. This works 100% of the time and I know because it is proven. There is no other way to become who we are without the environment we have been in. It is about choosing our values, our character, our friends, and our influences.
This is one reason the arts are so valuable. When you surround yourself with the great masters you are creating the environment for your mind to work like those minds work. You inhabit their world until it becomes your world.
In social media there are people called "influencers." These are people who have a lot of 'followers' and influence what they buy from their affiliate program. Who do you think is the best person to 'follow' if you have to 'follow' someone? If you had to follow one person for the rest of your life, who should that be? It is a legitimate question, because you are already doing it.
The issue for the world as a whole is to find a compelling vision that people want to become a part of that will influence them into being a thoughtful and reasonable society without all the wars and conflict in the world. Seriously, aren't people tired of it?
The end of the "Messiah Complex". People need to stop looking for a messiah to follow and rather find a way to live which is based on a principle and not on personalities. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to break people of the Messiah Complex. It is a bit like Jesus said, "All are like sheep that have gone astray." People don't know what to do without a strong leader. You'd think people wouldn't want a 'supreme leader' but apparently not.
I'm going to try and improve my programming. I hope I can.
