Every Now And Then A Big Dream Shows Itself
We live our lives in the real world. Every so often when we are thinking about doing something a big dream seems to creep in and an entire new world of possibilities open up to us. In an instant problems are put on the side and all you can see is how wonderful it is to be living that big vision.
Then like an angry parent, reality comes and slams the door on the big dream and you are left in the darkness of no choice. But, it isn’t so bad, because you are used to it. The darkness of the status quo has become a safe haven in which to hide and you can live with it, because you have always lived with it. Maybe you know it, or maybe you don’t. If you like it there then that is all the better, why struggle resisting the darkness if you actually like it? I get it.
The Big Dream Is A Part Of My Nature
I have been there. The darkness. It is a comfortable place and much less stressful. Sometimes I dream of just getting a simple job. You don’t have to worry about anything really then. Yes there are irritations on the job, but you leave them at work and go home and do your hobbies and have a life outside of that.
For me the problem with that is my nature won’t allow it. In every situation I am in, I always have a big dream for it. My mind naturally goes to the big dream whether it is how to take care of the yard, write a book or do a business. It is not a conscious decision or something I want, but something that comes to me and I get excited inside about it. Somehow my nature won’t allow me to just live a simple life. I truly wished it would.
A Life Without A Big Dream Is Not Living For Me
I am my best self when I have a big dream. When that dream is crushed by the limitations set on me by my reality or doesn’t get through to other people who I think should see it too, I melt into disappointment and the world turns dark, grey … black.
That is the real challenge isn’t it? Not letting reality and the limited vision of others dampen your passion for life.
1% Will Share Your Big Dream
I was talking the other day with a friend and I realized something that I have learned that out of 100 neutral people, unaware of the vision you have to share with them at the beginning and who don’t know you, 1 person will be able to see it. 10 in 1000, 100 in 10,000 and 1000 from 100,000. That means that 99% will either not be able to see it at all or upon seeing it won’t share in your vision.
99% of the world’s population tick differently than I do, than you do. It seems we are surrounded by idiots because it is easy to feel isolated in this situation. I look around at the people in my life and talk to them and they are nowhere near me in the least. I begin to get frustrated and angry, to be quite honest, because what is so clear to me, seems so far away to them and I just don’t get it.
But, I have learned something new. I am also one of their 99%! I don’t see myself as a problem for them, so why should the 99% be a problem for me? I can’t control nor can I know who is in my 1%, but I assume that 99% of those I come into contact with aren’t going to share my big dream, in any way.
I have to realize that the problem doesn’t lie with the 99%, it lies with me. My big dream, whatever it is, is not going to come true getting upset with the 99%. It will only come true when I am firm in the faith of my big dream and the 1% who resonate with it will come into my life.
The big dream is nothing specific but rather a state of being. This state of being is the most powerful and fulfilling state you can be in, because you are filled with the excitement, enthusiasm and purpose for yourself and the 1% you can share it with.
1% seems like a small number doesn’t it? It isn’t. 1% is enough to build a big dream on. It means, that in a city with 100,000 people there will be 1,000 who you can share and build your vision with.
So even when the big dream seems to be closed to you, know that it is only a matter of cracking open the door of possibilities, filling the darkness with light. There are many who share it with you, but it is only 1% of the people you meet. Don’t let that stop you! Dream On!
