Opera Singers Waiting Tables In New York City…

is not a rare thing. 

I did it while I was in grad school at Eastman in Rochester, New York. I actually enjoyed it too, except on a couple occasions. 

But that isn’t the whole story is it?  

The fact is, that I was very fortunate to escape from the New York City grind and made it to Germany where I’ve worked for 25 years singing full time lead roles in operas. 

Still, even doing well in opera, you are not making really good money and that money lasts till the end of the next contract and it is back to the auditions, which it it always is.  

Back in the early 80’s the only home based opportunities I had ever heard of was Amway, Avon and Tupperware, all good companies. But, it never crossed my mind to participate in such a company, much less any business at all. I was an opera singer, and luckily I did it. Most people end up getting a doctorate and teach in a university or high schools. The others, simply do something else, and many are successful.

But, I look back at those days, the concentrated population of a university or a music school, and I think now about how great it would have been to be able to build a business with those people around me at the time? 

Now, almost 30 years later, that could have turned out to be big. 

I had a small student loan, which was much more expensive than any opportunity in Network Marketing is and was paying it off for years. Many folks who attended the ”high end” schools, are still paying off those loans. 

What would you train yourself in if you didn’t have to worry about paying for anything. Just about anything you wanted right. 

Network Marketing and affiliate marketing have to be the best way to earn income for aspiring artists and students, because there are a lot of people close to them who are in the same situation. 

If you are stuggling to pay bills, trying to be an artist of any kind, or just trying to make ends meet, then you need to do something on your own that is going to move the needle.

If you have to write papers for school anyway, or if you are studying a particular ariea or opera, blog about it! That way you use what you are studying, learn it better and share it with the world…and the best news is, when you learn how to do it right, you can make money from it so you don’t have to wait tables.
