America needs to wake up and smell the coffee.
What is the coffee? The coffee is the freedom, peace, and prosperity of our country in the 21st Century.
American politics is serving only to distract this country from issues that are far more important than what is being presented to the American people as 'important issues'. The media is underscoring and supporting these unimportant infightings as if it was a block buster Hollywood hit.
While powerful countries are allying to create dictatorship alliances, dominance in international finance, and ideological tyranny to tighten the noose on the necks of their citizens to do their bidding, America is sitting in front of the TV calling each other names, getting obese and lazy, and not really knowing anything about itself or anything of value.
The divisive nature of politics today is based solely on acquiring power, abusing the ignorant, character assissination, conspiracy theories, and the personality worship going on in politics. Americans shouldn't follow people, they should follow ideas. This axiom must return to the mainstream of the American conscience before we all lose our freedom, peace, and prosperity at home, and abroad.
Do you believe that "Trust" is important in Government? Well it is. But not like you may think.
What does "In God We Trust" actually mean?
It means, by default, "We don't trust people."
In fact, the constitution of the United States is constructed because people can't be trusted and doing so is fatal.
The purpose of opposition in politics and government is to keep the other side honest. The Executive Branch is checked by the Legislative Branch, the Legislative Branch is checked by the Judiciary Branch, and cross wised and back and forth as well. Why was it designed this way? To make sure that people were working the right way that is honest and dedicated to the betterment of the nation and not for their own power. The military serves the people, not itself, and protects us from all threats, foreign and domestic, which would force the end of this brilliant, if slow, system of government.
In the word "Trust" there is a negativity about it that we assume when we use the word. "Trusting" someone doesn't have to mean that they are a bad or evil person. What it also can mean is that no one person holds all of the answers to anything, so we don't trust any one person's ability to get something right. What is better, one chemist, or five? Five, of course, because you have everyone checking each other's work. That doesn't mean you can't trust one or any of the chemists in their intentions, but rather that they probably don't have all the answers. The right answer isn't going to come from any one person, but rather through the rigorous testing from others.
The same can be said about political parties. The idea that one party is always right about something is simply not accurate thinking, yet our politicians crucify the opposition as if they were demons, not about a certain solution, but just because they aren't in their party of power.
When one looks at investing today, we look back at the 20th Century as evidence of what will happen in the 21st Century. It is like expecting children to grow up today like kids born in 1923 grew up. Well, is that really an accurate way to look at it? I doubt it.
The 20th Century was the American Century. It is when the United States lead the world in innovation, industry, free market economy and a unified idea of what is great about America. We had troubles in which we failed, like the depression, civil rights, and workers rights, but we also solved a lot of those problems out of honestly working to make America a better place to live.
In 1900 there was barely a school system, today, it is everywhere. Today there are many who look to destroy that and replace it with all kinds of class inspired seperation schools, online computer courses, and other unproven or untested programs sold by marketers. In fact, supposedly intelligent people are going around dissing higher education as unnecessary...because these people only care about one thing, making money. Making money isn't the only goal of education, duh! I must say, such short sighted comments really irk me. Can education be improved? Yes, of course! But the answer isn't doing away with it, or simply not participating in it. We've got respected leaders saying, don't go to school, it is unnecessary. I call these people fools and dangerous to our society, because what they want is to be in control.
The world is completely different in 2023 than it was in 1923. The question is whether America can continue it's growth in the increasing hostile world environment today when the leaders are spending so much time with "little stuff" like conspiracty theories, party allegiances, name calling, demonizing, and gerrymandering?
American efforts did nothing but help Russia, China, India, Saudi Arabia etc. prosper now for many years. But, today those countries are headed towards if not already in dictatorships and autocratic authority through political, religious, economic, and familial ideologies.
Freedom, peace loving free market democracies have depended on the United States to help protect them from the advance of oppression, but need to step up now and do more to help protect and keep freedom a real thing going forward, because clearly, the United States cannot do this alone.
Democracy is slower, but I believe more powerful, because I believe that single party/person authoritarian ideologies create corruption within their ranks which will inevitably destroy itself, and leave behind poverty and squalor for the generations to come to clean up.
We cannot expect a people to turn against its own government in crisis times.
Bombing has never done a thing to break the will of a people. In fact, it strengthens resolve to protect even the most corrupt of regimes. The reaons is, people don't feel very positive about those who drop bombs on their heads as a general rule. Today, munitions can be highly targeted reducing the effect of bombing to only military targets. But the fact remains that any force used against a foreign country will only serve to strengthen the hate for it.
As I see it, the future of America must be handed over to the next generation, and the sooner the better. The young people of today have to be given responsibility for our country and be well educated in how the constitution works and why it is so vital to the prosperity of our country.
But, clearly, the most important thing that could happen right now in American life is that we all wake up to the fact that our infighting is only serving to weaken our own county.
America has become:
Obese, sick, lazy, ignorant, drug and alcohol addicts, and most of all combative within itself. The bottom line is, we better wake up and smell the coffee and get to work on what really matters or experience the demise of the incredible nation that has been built by those generations who went before.
